We landed on an interface that allowed admin users to create templates that our front end users could use to merge complex documents. Features like conditional logic and bulk merge were eventually added as well.
Docrio is the document management and generation app of Litify. Our goal was to be the first document management system (DMS) to embrace Salesforce’s Lightning Design System (SLDS). Most of our competitors integrated with Salesforce as an afterthought, and we flipped that paradigm.
A good document management allows users to store, preview, and access their files in a reliable way. Docrio was subject to a lot of iteration, testing and improvements.
We determined there would be two types of people interacting with document generation: an admin user and a frontend user. The admin user (Jenna) would create templates for the frontend user (Chad). Personas don’t solve everything but they offer a lightweight, living document that’s useful.
The low-res brainstorming led to a better understanding of how document generation should work.
